9:45 am - Gencon
Rarely ever post but this is worth it me thinks.

I just got back from gamer boot camp. The 6 of us were gaming at 8am till midnight or beyond everyday.

It really is the best 4 days in gaming. I feel like i am going to need a week of sleep.

I'll write more later on it.

Wow... 19 weeks was my last entry. A ton has changed.

I am going to be a father in 6 months. I honestly can not wait. I thought that I would be more scared at this point but I am not. I think that this is the most wonderful thing that has happened to me ever.

School is almost done for the year, and I am working summer school as well. I can't wait for that either. I love teaching and wish that I would have known that 10 years ago.

9:22 pm - Hey look at me
Ok so I never update, sorry. But mostly that is because no one really wants to hear my graduate work stories.

Well I am almost done now, I have my research left next year and I be finished. I am still not sure what topic I am going to do yet....

I got a job. Like a jobby job teaching at Monroe High School. The day I signed my contract, Greece called for an interview. UGH I think I am going to like it there. I taught there last year and loved the people I worked with and was excited to be back with them.

My step-mother-in-law gave me a Starbucks Barista Espresso Machine. Before you start the hate for starbucks let me just point out that this will allow me to spend no money there. Seriously, this pressure driven machine makes great espresso. It was a sage to get it as the first one was broken and then the second one too, but they really have great customer service and replaced them quickly.

I'll try to update more often as people have bugged me to do so. I am sure i'll have stories to post once I start teaching in the fall.

7:57 am - The weekend
I don't post very much. I am pretty borring these days. I am teaching now and have a 2nd job as well as my Master's classes. THat's about it really. :)

This weekend and teh reunion taught me that I really miss some of the people that were close to me durring a time of growth in my life. We are different people now, but gathering together, I can feel that we shared something tegether.

The other thing it taught me is that I have the feeling that trevor and I will be friends no matter the distance. I was upset lastnight when we parted ways again, but it really felt more like see ya later then goodbye. I am glad that we got to do "normal" stuff together while he was here and will make sure that I get to visit this summer for more then a day.

Thanks to all of my friends that traveled to the event this weekend. I know I have more post in me but I am still processing.

You scored as Gandalf. You are Gandalf! This wise, old mage is loyal and brave. He is known for his counsel and advice to his friends and allies during tough times.

8:38 am - I haven't had much to update
The fact is that the summer has been mostly spanish hell and working for me. I didn't go anywhere and for the most part I didn’t really get to do anything. We did start a really kick ass gaming group over the summer and it looks to be working out really well. That'll be a welcome distraction come fall.

I have been brewing beer here and there. I have a scotch ale in the basement, a pub ale ready to go into the secondary for dry hopping and I am brewing a barleywine today. I like my beer better then most commercial beers.

I start my student teaching next week and my mentor teacher seems really nice. I am kinda nervous and excited at the same time. I hope that I do a good job and that the kids are receptive to my teaching. I am going to be in victor for 6 weeks and east for 6 weeks.

9:33 am - I never update....
I am reaching 7th and 8th graders over the month of July math and physics. I HATE 7th and 8th grade. This job has taught me that I need to be in a high school. This age is horrible. They really have 2 modes. They hate anyone older and pick on anyone younger. Most of them are inner-city kids as well. This is an enrichment program which means all of these kids are bright. But that is the problem; most of them get picked on for it everyday in school. In the city schools different is BAD, they can get beat up for being smart, and not the bully chasing you beat up, like sent to the hospital beat up. They acquire more then a few behavioral problems because if it.

I am in Spanish hell over the summer as well. My masters requires 2 semesters of a foreign language so I am doing the 12 week condensed thing over the summer. It is hellish but at least the majority of people in the class are in the same boat.

I got a smoker... and there will be ribs.... we needed a grill and didn't want a huge one. I talked my wife into a grill that is a smoker.

11:14 pm - Update
I never update my journal. The question that many of you have asked is why?

The reply is simple. I am dull, really, really, really dull. I am a creature of habit I have noticed and for the most part diverge little from that pattern.

Here is the "update"

We moved. The new place is nice with more space and feels more homey and less homely. Seriously, it is a place to live and that doesn't suck. We like it a lot.

I bottled all my cider. I am not sure I will do this next season as the small batches required not to get a huge jug of crap is jsut a pain to bottle. I did like the product however and do believe it will better over time.

I started brewing beer. The beer thing is new and should be intresting. I am not entirely sure that I will be able to truely brew a wurt here. The apartment does have a front porch and I could most likely do it there. I have to think a bit more about that. For this run I wanted to get used to the larger sizes and process. I used an extract, malt, and yeast. It is fermenting happily in the basement. We'll see where this goes.

I have my student teaching placements. Victor and East High. Not overly emotional about either.

I was a dumbass and couldn't pass the spanish CLEP so I am stuff taking spanish all summer. THe isn't bad but there are these twon women in the class that make me want to kill. You know the ones old, nontraditional students that chat loudly then ask about what they missed. They bitch about the homework and projects. They always want to leave early. Top it off, they are rude. One cut me off today while I was asking a question. Normally I'd want to kill, but mostly this class makes me want to learn how to say, "I don't care" in spanish.

Oh, the DnD group has fallen into a nice regular group. It is good to hang with my old and new friends at the same time.

Other then that.... pretty much the same.

if you can read, even if i have never met you, you are required to post a memory of me (false memories and hypnotic regression are allowed) it can be anything you want, it can be good or bad, just so long as it happened to someone that i am or was in a past life. then post this to your journal if ya want. see what people remember about you.

12:01 am - Myth
Building a MythTV box is coming along well. My WinTV-350 came in and I put it in the old machine. Athlon 2100 and 512 megs ram. I am a little worried about drive space a 40g and a 120g for now. The AT7 has a highpoint controler so i may get another drive and make a stripe set.

The next step is which flavor fo Linux. I am a Gentoo user so that is what will most likely end up on there. So much to do...
